Hi, I’m Mateo — a teen hotel reviewer and the creator of This Teen Travelz.
I’m a 13-year-old hotel reviewer who spends over 50 nights a year staying in hotels with my family. I started This Teen Travelz because I realized something was missing in travel content: almost no one was reviewing hotels from a teen’s point of view.
Most hotel reviews are written for adults. But when families travel, teens are often the ones spending the most time in the room — on Wi-Fi, gaming, streaming, or just trying to relax. Those details matter, and they’re usually overlooked.
That’s where I come in.

This Teen Travelz isn’t about hype or “influencer stays.” Every review is based on real travel, real testing, and real feedback from a teen perspective.
When I review a hotel, I focus on things like:
- Wi-Fi speed and reliability (tested, not guessed)
- Room layout, outlets, desk space, and comfort
- Ease of setting up gaming consoles and devices
- Pools, fitness centers, lounges, and shared spaces
- Whether the hotel actually works for teens and families — not just business travelers
The goal isn’t to sell a stay. It’s to explain what staying there is actually like for a teen.
Real Experience From a Teen Hotel Reviewer
Since launching This Teen Travelz, I’ve stayed at 139 hotels total, including 130 Marriott properties, across the United States and Canada. Some stays are first visits, others are return trips — which gives me real perspective on consistency, brand differences, and how properties evolve over time.
For each reviewed stay, I typically create:
- A full YouTube hotel review
- A detailed, SEO-optimized blog post
- Short-form walkthroughs (rooms, pools, gyms, lounges)
Everything is filmed and written by me, with a thoughtful, respectful approach. I always travel with my parents, and I take professionalism seriously — especially when working with hotel teams.
As a teen hotel reviewer, real-world experience and consistency matter more to me than first impressions.
