Hotel Review: Sheraton Erie Bayfront Hotel — Bay Views, Renovated Rooms & A Waterfront Finale

Ending a road trip at the right hotel is everything — and this one seriously delivered. The Sheraton Erie Bayfront Hotel in Erie, Pennsylvania was the final stop on our Epic Summer 2025 road trip, and it was also part two of my hosted stay after spending the night next door at the Courtyard Erie Bayfront.

This Sheraton is known as the area’s first waterfront hotel, and since my parents stayed here years ago before the renovations, we were all excited to see what the updated rooms looked like now. Plus… it’s located inside the Bayfront Landing complex — a whole mini travel zone with meeting space, two hotels, restaurants, and enough to do that (as Ryan Johnson put it) you can “park your car and never leave for days.”

Check-In & First Impressions

We arrived just after 4 p.m. and the first thing I noticed was lots of luggage carts — always a plus. I also love the entrance here… the revolving door is such a cool touch and makes the arrival feel a little more “big trip energy.”

At the front desk, we were welcomed by Carter, who was super friendly. Check-in was quick and smooth.

The lobby has a cozy, boutique vibe for a Sheraton — and the fireplace in the center is placed perfectly. It splits the check-in area from the Lobby Lounge / restaurant side, so it feels warm and relaxed instead of just “busy hotel lobby.”

Room Tour: Deluxe Guest Room, 2 Queen, Bay View (6th Floor)

Okay… this room was a wow.

We stayed in a Deluxe Guest Room with 2 Queens and a Bay View, and my first impression was how bright and clean it felt. The renovations really show.

Here’s what stood out:

  • Full-length mirror + hooks right when you walk in (underrated feature)
  • Wardrobe with a good amount of space + in-room safe
  • Two queen beds with a cool headboard and a blue accent wall that matched the whole waterfront vibe
  • Nice TV setup, coffee maker, and a bench

But the most unique thing?

A sit-stand desk… facing the bay

I’ve never stayed at a hotel with a sit-stand desk. And the fact that it faces the water is elite. I spent so much time just watching sailboats go by — it was weirdly calming.

There’s also a cozy chair by the window, which made the room feel extra “stay awhile” instead of “sleep and leave.”

The bathroom is through French doors, and it’s nicely renovated with a bathtub. Bathtubs usually aren’t my favourite… but for this room and this view, I’ll allow it.

Teen Travelz suggestion for the hotel:
If you really want to level up the bay-view experience, add binoculars in these rooms. I would’ve used them nonstop to get a closer look at boats and wildlife on the bay.

Wi-Fi & Console Setup

Connecting to Wi-Fi was easy on all my devices (laptop, phone, iPad, Nintendo Switch), but the speed was on the slower end. I could still play some games, but there was definitely lag.

If you want the real numbers and how it ranks against all the hotels I’ve tested, you already know where to go:

Console setup was simple. One thing to note: the outlet near the TV is a bit farther than usual, so if your power cord is short, consider packing an extension cord (or just bring a travel power strip like I always do).

The good news: this room had a solid amount of outlets, spaced out well — which is a big win for teens traveling with devices.

Pool, Hot Tub & Outdoor Patio Vibes

The pool is small-to-medium (not massive, but not tiny), and there’s also a hot tub.

What I liked:

  • Lots of natural light with windows on two sides
  • A good mix of seating (loungers, chairs, benches)
  • Access to an outdoor patio from the pool area

The outdoor patio was actually a vibe:

  • Tables + comfortable cushioned seating
  • Sofas
  • Adirondack chairs

This whole pool zone feels like a relaxing “end of the day” spot — especially after a long road trip drive.

Gym Setup

The gym is bright, open, and has a lot more than the average hotel fitness room:

  • Lots of cardio machines (bikes, treadmills, ellipticals)
  • Full set of weights + 2 benches
  • Multi-gym
  • Yoga gear

But the coolest detail?
There were exercise guides posted on the gym walls, showing different workouts. I don’t see that often, and it’s actually really helpful if you want to do more than “walk on a treadmill for 10 minutes and leave.”

Food at the Sheraton & Bayfront Landing

Let’s start inside the Sheraton:

  • Two45 Waterfront Grille (room service available)
Beautiful restaurant with indoor + outdoor seating and bay views. Multiple guests told me they have an excellent breakfast.
  • &More by Sheraton
Great for coffee and grab-and-go items.
  • Lobby Lounge
A cozy spot to chill before dinner.

Quick shoutout to the teams at &More, Lobby Lounge, and Two45 — everyone was kind and welcoming while I filmed.

Sheraton Club Lounge (8th Floor)

If you’re Marriott Bonvoy Platinum or higher (or have lounge access), head up to the Sheraton Club.

Heads up: it’s on the smaller side, so it can fill up fast — especially at breakfast.

We visited in the evening and again in the morning.

Evening lounge highlights:

  • Potstickers + veggie spring rolls
  • Veggies and dip
  • Charcuterie-style options
  • Cookies, cake, and packaged snacks (chips, etc.)

Breakfast was busy so I couldn’t film it properly, but they did put out a solid spread.

Nearby Eats You Should Know

The Bayfront Landing area has a ridiculous amount of options:

Also nearby:

Seasonal must-visit:

  • Sara’s Diner (Spring/Summer)
A classic 1950s-style stop near Presque Isle. Burgers, fries, milkshakes, and that famous orange sherbet/vanilla twist. We tried it… and it hit.

Dessert stop:

  • Romolo Chocolates
We grabbed chocolates to bring back to the hotel and it was amazing. My favourite was the milk chocolate sponge candy.

Things To Do Near Sheraton Erie Bayfront

You can do a lot without even moving your car:

  • Walk the Bayfront Landing complex (seriously, it’s beautiful)
  • Bicentennial Tower
Observation deck is 138 feet above Presque Isle Bay — insane views in every direction.
  • Oliver’s Bayfront Mini Golf (across from the hotel)
  • Erie Maritime Museum / U.S. Brig Niagara
Great learning stop — but the Brig was offsite for repairs and expected back early summer 2026.
  • Skybridge walk
Great views, plus easy access to the convention center (and seasonal events).
  • Scallywags Pirate Adventures
Perfect for families with younger kids — interactive pirate cruise with activities and a treasure ending.
  • Fishing & Charters
Tons of fishing happening around the bayfront, plus charters available.

One of the biggest strengths of the Sheraton Erie Bayfront Hotel is how much there is to do without going far. I’ve pinned the hotel, key Bayfront Landing restaurants, nearby attractions, and a few bonus spots so you can quickly see what’s walkable — and what’s worth a short drive if you’re staying longer.

Final Thoughts

It was honestly sad that our Epic Summer 2025 road trip had to end… but I’m grateful it ended here.

This stay was a high note for so many reasons:

  • The renovated bay-view room was bright, clean, and super comfortable
  • The sit-stand desk facing the water is a standout feature I’ll remember
  • The Bayfront Landing location gives you food, views, and things to do right outside the door
  • The pool + patio area is a great place to unwind
  • The gym is well equipped (and the workout posters were a nice touch)
  • The whole area feels like a destination, not just “a hotel on a road trip”

Even with Wi-Fi being a bit on the slower side, the overall experience, comfort, and location made this an easy win.

No debate: Sheraton Erie Bayfront Hotel is This Teen Travelz Approved.

Thank You

Before I sign off, I want to give a huge thank you to Ryan and Brianna for hosting me and my family.

It means a lot that they gave a young creator like me a chance and believed in what I’m building with This Teen Travelz. I’m grateful they’re thinking ahead and investing time into my generation — because teens are going to be the next wave of travelers visiting places like this with our families.

Opportunities like this don’t just help my channel — they help me create memories with my family and share real experiences with other travelers.

Thank you again to Ryan, Brianna, and the entire Sheraton Erie Bayfront team. I hope our paths cross again soon.

Hosted Stay Disclosure: This stay was hosted by the hotel, meaning they covered the cost of our visit — but they didn’t pay me to say anything or review it a certain way. This is still my honest teen take, just like always.
