Last updated: October 2025

TownePlace Suites by Marriott Alexandria Fort Belvoir

Clean studio with full-size fridge, easy Switch hookup, strong Wi-Fi (Top 10 on my leaderboard), solid breakfast, and great outdoor patio. Pool room was too humid during my visit, but location is clutch for the National Museum of the U.S. Army and Mount Vernon.

Residence Inn Blacksburg-University

Walkable food galore, big indoor pool surprise, easy console setup, and a swivel TV. Sofa bed was rough—book two real beds if you can. Perfect base for Virginia Tech visits.

Fairfield Inn & Suites at Dulles Airport

Quiet rooms, excellent Wi-Fi (Top 5), super-easy Switch connection, and early breakfast hours that fit flight schedules. No pool anymore, but strong gym—and Udvar-Hazy (Space Shuttle Discovery!) is minutes away.

Courtyard Alexandria Old Town/Southwest

Older rooms and tiny TV, but reliable Wi-Fi and simple Switch hookup. The win is location: a 5-minute walk to the Eisenhower Metro gets you into D.C. fast.
