Looking for the ultimate Myrtle Beach hotel that’s teen-approved, family-friendly, and straight-up fun? The SpringHill Suites Myrtle Beach Oceanfront might be exactly what you need. This was my second time staying here—and it just happened to fall on my birthday weekend. 🎉 From a suite upgrade and in-pool loungers to wild waterslides and ocean views, this hotel seriously checks all the boxes.

First Impressions & Check-In
We pulled up early afternoon after driving in from Wilmington, NC. This hotel is part of a dual-branded building—it shares space with a Courtyard, which gives the lobby a much bigger, more open feel than a typical SpringHill Suites. The ceiling is high, the natural light is awesome, and the second floor overlooks the whole lobby space. There’s a Marketplace, tons of seating, and the Courtyard Bistro, which acts as the on-site restaurant and cocktail bar.
Check-in was quick, and the staff were super friendly as always. Shoutout to the front desk team! Thanks to my dad’s Titanium Bonvoy status, we got a free upgrade to a One Bedroom Suite (score!). Finding a luggage cart was a bit of a mission—it was super busy and the cart we finally got had definitely seen better days.
Parking is across the street in a covered garage, so be prepared for a little back-and-forth if you’re unloading. My favorite parts of the lobby? The wall-to-wall oceanfront windows and the cool art resin tables up on the second floor.
Our Room: 21st Floor Oceanfront Suite
We booked a 2 Queen Suite but were upgraded to a corner One Bedroom Suite on the 21st floor. Total game-changer.
The suite was split into two parts with the bathroom in the middle and had:
- 2 queen beds in the bedroom + a separate living area
- A sofa bed, armchair, microwave, and mini fridge
- A large balcony with 3 chairs overlooking the beach (our favorite hangout!)
- Another window view of the city from the bedroom
- 2 decently sized TVs
- A 4-person table perfect for meals, editing, or playing cards
The bathroom had a tub (I prefer a stand-up shower, but it still worked). Room service came daily to refresh things, and the hotel even surprised me with birthday balloons once they found out it was my big day. That was a really cool touch!
Wi-Fi & Gaming Setup
Wi-Fi was easy to connect across all my devices—laptop, phone, iPad, and Switch. It ranked middle of the pack on my Hotel Wi-Fi Speed Leaderboard but still handled streaming and gaming like a champ.
The TV setup needs a workaround though. There’s no on-screen HDMI option, so you have to unplug the Marriott TV box (behind the TV) and plug in your console directly into that HDMI port. Once you do that, you’re good to go!
Pool, Beach & Water Fun
This is where this hotel really shines. It’s got:
- A heated outdoor pool with in-pool loungers (perfect for relaxing with a book)
- A lazy river that flows indoors and outdoors (so good I lost track of time)
- A pirate ship play zone for little kids with small water slides
- A waterslide zone next door for adventurous teens—fair warning: they’re faster than they look! One slide literally launched my shirt off
And then there’s the beach—just steps away. We brought our own chairs and umbrella, but you can rent them too. If you don’t want sand in your shoes, there’s a section of lounge chairs between the hotel and beach that’s ideal for soaking up the sun.
I also filmed some night footage of the outdoor patio near the breakfast area. Fire tables + ocean breeze = total vibe.
Gym & Breakfast Fuel
The gym here is solid—tons of cardio gear, two sets of weights, and a full view of the ocean and pool while you work out. No excuses when you’ve got scenery like that.
As for breakfast, it’s included with your SpringHill stay. There was a good mix of hot and cold options—waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, and yogurt. Not the best I’ve ever had, but the breakfast attendant was a star—friendly, helpful, and always keeping things stocked.
Where to Eat Nearby
So many places within walking distance or a short drive. Here are my faves:
- The Bistro – right in the hotel lobby, good for quick bites or chill adult cocktails
- Bummz Beach Café – relaxed, right down the street
- Hot Tomato – solid Italian and just a couple minutes away
- Wiseguys Bar & Grill – check their happy hour menu, it’s worth it!
- Fuddruckers – my parents’ throwback spot
- Cook Out – my personal fav. Walking taco + insane milkshake flavors? Yes please.
We also stopped at the grocery store to stock up on healthier snacks for the room. Not every meal was healthy… but hey, it’s vacation.

- Dave & Buster’s (go Wednesdays for half-price games)
- Popstroke Mini Golf
- The giant Ferris wheel

Just check their schedule—some stuff is seasonal! - Tanger Outlets (20 min drive)
