Looking for a Courtyard Bridgeport Clarksburg review before booking a quick overnight stay in Bridgeport, West Virginia? This hotel is convenient, close to walkable food options, and worked as a road trip stopover — but the slow Wi-Fi, dated rooms, tiny pool, and missed feather-free request made it a tougher stay from a teen perspective.
Arrival & First Impressions at Courtyard Bridgeport Clarksburg
We rolled in just after 10:30 p.m. after a long drive from Charlotte. There was a short wait at the desk (looked like one person was running the show—totally fair for late night), then check-in was quick.
The lobby felt like a classic Courtyard setup with The Bistro and plenty of seating. I noticed the cubby nooks didn’t have TVs (unusual for Courtyard), and furnishings looked dated—definitely ready for a refresh. Luggage carts were available up front, which made unloading easy.
Room & Sleep
We’d booked a 2 Double but got 2 Queens—nice surprise. The room was clean, spacious, and very old-school Courtyard: original desk layout, small TV, and a side chair. The bathroom was a good size with a stand-up shower (I prefer that over a tub).
Downside: our feather-free note wasn’t applied; there were feather and non-feather pillows. It was late, so we stashed the feather ones in the closet and called it a night.
Wi-Fi, Tech & Gaming Setup
Here’s the dealbreaker: the Wi-Fi was the slowest I’ve tested on my channel so far. No Roblox, no streaming, no hanging out online—I had to use my phone data. The TV didn’t have Marriott’s Guest Room Entertainment, so no built-in Netflix either.
Silver lining: the older/smaller TV made Nintendo Switch hookup simple. Outlet count was slightly better than average, but after a full day on the road, I still needed my travel power strip.

Pool, Gym & Outdoor Spaces
- Indoor pool: small and shallow—not somewhere I’d want to spend a ton of time.
- Fitness room: four cardio machines, a bench, and free weights—basic but fine for a quick session.
- Back patio: surprisingly large with lots of seating and a fire pit (cool hangout spot), though some outdoor furniture is showing wear.
Food Options Near Courtyard Bridgeport Clarksburg
On-site: The Bistro (Courtyard’s standard menu). Breakfast isn’t included, so we grabbed food on the road in the morning.
Walkable: TGI Fridays and Starbucks share the parking lot; Wendy’s and IHOP are about a 5-minute walk.
Before check-in: We stopped at Primanti Bros. (~10 minutes away). If you know my channel, you know I’m a fan—solid as always.

Courtyard Bridgeport Clarksburg Review: Final Verdict
The good: clean room, bigger-than-expected space, convenient location with easy walkable food options, and a nice-sized back patio.
The not-so-good: Wi-Fi was basically unusable, feather-free note missed, dated feel across lobby and room, and a tiny/shallow pool.
For a teen traveler who cares about connectivity and modern rooms, the negatives outweigh the positives.
Verdict: Not This Teen Travelz Approved.

Courtyard Bridgeport Clarksburg FAQ
Is Courtyard Bridgeport Clarksburg good for a road trip stopover?
Courtyard Bridgeport Clarksburg can work as a quick road trip stopover because it is easy to access, close to walkable food options, and has a clean, spacious room setup. For my stay, though, the dated feel and extremely slow Wi-Fi made it less ideal for teens who care about streaming, gaming, or staying connected.
Does Courtyard Bridgeport Clarksburg have a pool?
Yes, Courtyard Bridgeport Clarksburg has an indoor pool. During my stay, the pool felt small and shallow, so it was fine for a quick swim but not really a major highlight of the hotel.
Is breakfast included at Courtyard Bridgeport Clarksburg?
Breakfast is not automatically included for every stay. The hotel has The Bistro, which is the standard Courtyard by Marriott food option for breakfast and other items, but we ended up grabbing food on the road instead.
Is Courtyard Bridgeport Clarksburg good for gaming?
For Nintendo Switch hookup, the room was actually easy because the older TV setup made the HDMI connection simple. The bigger issue was the Wi-Fi, which was too slow during my stay for online gaming, streaming, or hanging out online.
What food options are near Courtyard Bridgeport Clarksburg?
There are several easy food options near Courtyard Bridgeport Clarksburg. TGI Fridays and Starbucks share the parking lot, while Wendy’s and IHOP are about a short walk away. We also stopped at Primanti Bros. before checking in, which was about 10 minutes away.
Would I stay at Courtyard Bridgeport Clarksburg again?
For a quick overnight where location matters more than Wi-Fi or amenities, maybe. But from a teen traveler perspective, the slow Wi-Fi, dated rooms, small pool, and missed feather-free request made this hotel not This Teen Travelz Approved.
