Hotel Review: TownePlace Suites by Marriott Niagara Falls Canada – New, Quiet & Surprisingly Gamer-Friendly

TownePlace Suites by Marriott Niagara Falls Canada is one of the newest hotels in the area — and that’s exactly why my dad and I decided to book it for our fall getaway.

When we stayed in October 2025, the TownePlace Suites Niagara Falls Canada had only been open for about three months. So the big question was: does this newer property actually deliver from a teen perspective?

After two nights of testing the Wi-Fi, checking out the pool, gaming setup, breakfast, and exploring the area using WEGO transit… I’ve got thoughts.

Let’s get into it.

First Impressions & Check-In

We arrived just after 4:00 p.m. and were greeted by Arathy at the front desk. She was friendly, polite, and made check-in quick and easy while answering all of our questions about the hotel and the area.

The lobby felt bright and open, with plenty of seating. There was even a small TV nook near reception, and the layout flows directly into the hotel market and breakfast area.

The breakfast space had a really cozy mix of seating options — honestly, it would’ve been a great spot for a few competitive UNO games if my sister had come on this trip.

Bonus points: lots of luggage carts available. Always a good sign.

The Room – 2 Queen City View (Upgraded with Sofa Bed)

We originally booked a 2 Queen City View room but were upgraded to a 2 Queen City View with a Sofa Bed on the third floor.

The room felt brand new — bright, clean, and modern.

Right when you walk in, the kitchenette is front and center, and it includes:

  • Full-size fridge with freezer
  • Stovetop
  • Microwave
  • Dishwasher

For families, this is a huge win.

The room also featured:

  • Two really comfy queen beds
  • A comfortable sofa bed and ottoman
  • Small table
  • Decent-sized desk
  • Large TV

We had a unique view of the Buddhist shrine and museum next door, which made the stay feel a little different from typical Niagara hotel views.

The bathroom had a stand-up shower with strong water pressure and great temperature control — no complaints there.

Overall, exactly what I expect from TownePlace Suites: practical, comfortable, and functional.

Wi-Fi, Gaming Setup & Tech

Connecting to Wi-Fi was simple across all devices — laptop, phone, iPad, and Nintendo Switch.

The speed? Impressive.

This hotel currently sits inside the Top 10 on my Hotel Wi-Fi Speed Leaderboard. That means I could game and chat simultaneously with zero lag.

If you want to see where it ranks compared to other hotels I’ve tested, check out my Hotel Wi-Fi Speed Leaderboard on ThisTeenTravelz.com.

The TV was mounted on a swing-out arm, making HDMI access super easy. There was also an outlet directly underneath the TV — huge win for console gamers.

As always though: pack a travel power strip. Trust me.

Pool Vibes & Outdoor Lounge

The pool is located on the second floor and the area is big and bright.

Things I liked:

  • Windows that open (great for humidity control)
  • Larger entry stairs on one end
  • Decent seating around the pool

I do wish there was more than one lounger.

Connected to the pool is an outdoor lounge area with tables, chairs, and two guest-use barbecues. This is something you almost never get at hotels closer to Clifton Hill.

In warmer months, this would be an amazing spot to grill and chill.

Gym – Surprisingly Strong for a TownePlace

The gym isn’t huge, but it was surprisingly good.

It had:

  • Peloton (first time I’ve seen one at a TownePlace)
  • Treadmills
  • Elliptical
  • Full rack of weights
  • Weight benches
  • Yoga equipment
  • Leg press
  • Pulldown machine

For a select-service brand, this was above average.

Food & Dining – The Trade-Off

Here’s the honest part:

There are very few food options within walking distance of the TownePlace Suites Niagara Falls Canada.

If you don’t have a car, you’ll likely rely on delivery apps or WEGO transit.

The main tourist areas (Clifton Hill / Fallsview) have tons of restaurants, but expect:

  • Higher prices
  • Niagara Falls Destination Fees (NFDF)
  • Tourism Improvement Fees (TIF)
  • Crowds in summer

To work around this, we:

  • Ordered pizza
  • Grabbed desserts from a local grocery store
  • Used the full fridge/freezer to save leftovers

This is where the kitchenette really pays off.

On our second night, we drove about 15 minutes to Mandarin — one of my favorite buffet spots in Ontario. That location is one of the best I’ve been to.

Another must-visit for me is Gelato di Carlotta (Fallsview Casino & Niagara-on-the-Lake locations). Easily my favorite gelato anywhere.

Places still on my Niagara list:

Breakfast

Breakfast was included with our stay.

One morning included:

  • Hash browns
  • Sausages
  • Vegetable & cheese omelets
  • Bread
  • Cereal
  • Yogurt
  • Milk & chocolate milk
  • Juice
  • Oatmeal station

I’ll be honest — it felt underwhelming compared to other TownePlace Suites.

No waffle station.
No pastries.

I did speak with staff, and they mentioned they’re actively working on improving breakfast. Since the hotel was very new at the time of my stay, I’ll give them room to improve.

If you’ve stayed recently, let me know how breakfast is now.

Things to Do Near TownePlace Suites by Marriott Niagara Falls Canada

One major advantage of this location is proximity to the White Water Walk — it’s literally across the street.

We didn’t experience it this trip, but we stopped by to grab WEGO passes.

WEGO Transit

WEGO is Niagara’s visitor transportation system, and there’s a stop right near the hotel on both sides of the street.

We used WEGO the entire trip.

No parking stress.
No traffic frustration.
No tourist parking fees.

Just check routes and seasonal schedules before planning.

Clifton Hill Favorites

Clifton Hill is the high-energy entertainment zone of Niagara Falls.

Both are about 15 minutes away.

Explore Niagara Falls (Teen Travel Map)

To make planning easier, I’ve created a custom Google Map highlighting the attractions, restaurants, shopping spots, and transit options near TownePlace Suites Niagara Falls Canada.

This map includes everything I mentioned in this review — from Clifton Hill attractions and outlet malls to WEGO bus stops and must-visit experiences like Journey Behind the Falls. If you’re planning your own Niagara trip, this gives you a quick visual layout of what’s nearby and how everything connects.

Final Thoughts on TownePlace Suites by Marriott Niagara Falls Canada

The TownePlace Suites by Marriott Niagara Falls Canada is a strong option if you want:

  • A quieter location
  • Full kitchen setup
  • More space
  • Lower stress
  • Flexibility with meals

Yes, you give up walkable food options.

But you gain:

  • A peaceful retreat
  • Full kitchenette
  • Outdoor BBQ access
  • Top 10 Wi-Fi performance
  • Better value than staying directly on Clifton Hill

I also liked using WEGO instead of driving everywhere — it made the trip feel more relaxed and flexible.

Breakfast needs improvement, but staff acknowledged it and are actively working on upgrades — which is a good sign for a newer property.

For families who want space, comfort, and the ability to control food costs while staying near Niagara Falls attractions, this is a very solid choice.
