Top Ontario Hotel Picks (Teen Perspective)

Looking for the best Ontario hotel reviews without scrolling through everything? Here are my current top picks based on real stays across the province — from overall experience to gaming setup and real-world usability.

These picks will continue to evolve as I visit more hotels and update my rankings.

🥇 Best Overall Stay

The Insignia Hotel Sarnia – Tribute Portfolio – Sarnia, Ontario

If you’re looking for the most complete teen-friendly hotel experience in Ontario, this is it. The Wi-Fi is the fastest I’ve tested, gaming setup is effortless, and the rooms are modern and comfortable. The pool and individual saunas take it to another level, and being able to walk to nearby spots makes it even better. This is one of the easiest “This Teen Travelz Approved” picks on the list — and you can read my full review for a deeper breakdown.

🎮 Best for Gaming

The Insignia Hotel Sarnia – Tribute Portfolio – Sarnia, Ontario

This is easily the best gaming setup I’ve had at any Ontario hotel. Between the top-ranked Wi-Fi speeds, large TVs, and easy console connection, everything just works. Add in a great pool and sauna setup plus walkable food options, and this becomes the ultimate recharge-and-play stay.

🌆 Best Downtown Stay

Kingston Marriott – Kingston, Ontario

A polished, modern downtown hotel with strong Wi-Fi, easy HDMI access, and one of the best M Club Lounge experiences I’ve had. The location makes it perfect for exploring Kingston, and the overall setup is super tech-friendly for a smooth stay.

I’ve now reviewed multiple Toronto airport hotels, and I’m putting together a full comparison to break down which one is actually the best depending on what you’re looking for.

Ontario Hotel Reviews (From a Teen Perspective)

This collection of Ontario hotel reviews is built from real stays across the province, focused on what actually matters from a teen perspective.

Kingston Marriott (Downtown)

Brand-new and super polished: hardwood floors, a huge TV with easy HDMI, and some of the friendliest staff I’ve met (shoutout Doug & Richa). The M Club Lounge is next-level cozy, Wi-Fi was fast, and console hookup was effortless; there’s no pool, but the gym makes up for it. One of my top Ontario picks for tech-friendly, downtown stays.

The Insignia Hotel Sarnia – Tribute Portfolio (Revisit)

On my revisit, Insignia still delivered: #1 on my Wi-Fi Speed Leaderboard, easy gaming on both TVs (Chromecast, tons of outlets), and an indoor saltwater pool with hot tub + personal saunas. Rooms are stylish with great showers, and Bad Dog Bar & Grill down the street is still the dinner MVP.

The Insignia Hotel Sarnia – Tribute Portfolio (Original Review)

Clean, design-forward rooms (hardwood floors, local map art), friendly staff, and a fantastic pool/sauna setup make this an easy teen recommendation. Wi-Fi was strong on all devices and Nintendo Switch setup was painless; skip the buffet breakfast and eat off the menu or head to Bad Dog nearby.

Courtyard Kingston Highway 401/Division Street

Highway-convenient and reliably clean with a surprise waterslide (Fri–Sun hours). Wi-Fi is solid and Switch hookup is simple, though rooms feel a bit dated and TVs are on the small side; food, shopping, and Landmark Cinemas are steps away for an easy road-trip stop.

Four Points by Sheraton Point Edward Sarnia

Friendly check-in and a surprisingly warm indoor pool make this a decent border-crossing stop. Console setup is super easy (HDMI under the TV), but the Wi-Fi is very slow—bring a hotspot if you need speed; Boston Pizza on site is convenient for late arrivals.

TownePlace Suites Brantford & Conference Centre

A quick overnight that missed the mark: slow elevator, messy hallway from repairs, and hard-to-connect Wi-Fi (fast once online). Hot water took too long and the wall-mounted TV blocked console gaming, though breakfast was solid and the pool/fitness areas looked good. Not Teen Travelz Approved.

Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Orillia

This award-winning Fairfield is one of Ontario’s biggest surprises. From the spotless rooms and well-equipped gym to an incredible breakfast that sets a new standard for Marriott’s mid-scale brands, this Orillia stay delivers comfort and personality. Friendly staff, easy tech setup, and fun touches like a treasure chest for younger guests make it a must-stop on any Ontario road trip.

Delta Hotels Toronto Airport & Conference Centre

A surprisingly packed full-service stay with one of the most unique room layouts I’ve ever reviewed: a two-level loft suite with huge windows, tons of space, and a full living + dining setup. The pool is massive, the gym is well-equipped, breakfast is excellent, and the Delta Pantry adds serious convenience with 24/7 grab-and-go options. My parents also found tons of dining choices nearby and even discovered a full A320 flight simulator inside the hotel — easily one of the coolest surprises in Toronto. The only downside was slow Wi-Fi, but overall this property delivers big for families, tournament weekends, and airport travelers.

TownePlace Suites by Marriott Niagara Falls Canada – Niagara Falls, Ontario

A newer Niagara Falls hotel that surprised me in a good way: Top-10 Wi-Fi speeds, super easy Nintendo Switch hookup thanks to a swing-out TV mount, and full in-room kitchens that make family trips way more flexible. You give up walkable restaurants, but you gain a quieter stay, outdoor BBQ access, WEGO transit nearby, and a solid pool and gym setup—making this a strong teen-friendly base near Clifton Hill and the Falls.

Toronto Airport Marriott Hotel – Toronto, Ontario

Located just minutes from Toronto Pearson Airport, this renovated airport Marriott combines travel-day convenience with surprisingly relaxing vibes. The glass-covered pool atrium, walkable restaurants, complimentary shuttle, and strong M Club Lounge make it a smart Ontario stay — whether you’re flying out or planning a low-key staycation near YYZ.

Sheraton Hamilton Hotel – Hamilton, Ontario

A downtown Hamilton stay that’s all about location. Connected directly to Jackson Square and steps from TD Coliseum and FirstOntario Concert Hall, this hotel makes it easy to explore the city without stepping outside. Add in Top-10 Wi-Fi speeds, skyline views, a solid Sheraton Club Lounge, and access to the Hamilton Farmers’ Market, and this becomes a really convenient and well-rounded Ontario stay.

Aloft Vaughan Mills – Vaughan, Ontario

A location-driven stay that drops you right into the action. Steps from Vaughan Mills and minutes from Canada’s Wonderland, this hotel is all about convenience and a social vibe. The lobby feels more like a hangout space with a pool table and lounge-style seating, while the rooms are modern but slightly smaller than expected. Wi-Fi sits right on the edge of usable, but the swing-out TV makes console setup easy. The real win here is everything around the hotel — food, shopping, and entertainment are all right there.

The Westin Toronto Airport – Toronto, Ontario

A calm, comfortable airport stay that’s all about sleep quality and consistency. Even this close to Pearson, the hotel stays incredibly quiet, and the Westin Heavenly Bed delivers some of the best sleep you’ll get. Wi-Fi is solid for everyday use, the pool and gym are well set up, and the free 24-hour shuttle makes travel easy. It’s not about location or exploring — it’s about recharging, and this stay absolutely delivers.
