First Impressions: Inviting, Tech-Smart, and Teen-Welcoming
This brand-new hotel opened in December 2024, and you can tell—it’s fresh, modern, and thoughtfully designed. The lobby is super inviting, with a chill restaurant on one side and check-in on the other. My favorite feature? Built-in charging outlets in the seating area. Instant win.
That classic Marriott signature scent was strong—in the best way. My family even has the scent diffuser at home!
Check-in was fast, and the staff were awesome. Huge shoutout to Doug and Richa, who went out of their way to make us feel welcome—especially me, which doesn’t always happen when you’re a teen. You two nailed it!
Room Tour: Comfy Beds, Big Screen, Allergy-Friendly Floors
We stayed in a Double Queen Room, and it was everything I hoped for:
- Super clean (tons of staff were always tidying up)
- Hardwood floors (great for allergies)
- Huge 60-inch TV
- Comfy beds
- Modern stand-up shower
Biggest surprise? Turndown service. Yup. While me and my sister were mid-battle in Super Mario Party Jamboree, a staff member knocked and offered to tidy the room, fold back the covers, and leave chocolates on the pillows. That’s next-level Marriott service right there.
Tech & Wi-Fi at the Kingston Marriott
The Wi-Fi was fast, even while playing Roblox and chatting on Discord. You can also compare this to other hotels on my Hotel Wi-Fi Speed Leaderboard. My family has Marriott Bonvoy Titanium status, so we used the enhanced connection, and it made a real difference.
Gaming-wise, I was hyped to see:
- An HDMI port below the TV
- USB-C charging
- Plenty of outlets
This is one of the easiest console hookups I’ve ever had in a hotel. Pro tip: Still bring a power strip—you’ll thank me.
Fitness Vibes: No Pool, but Solid Gym
No pool here, which was a bit of a bummer—but I was told that most guests at this location preferred a better fitness center, so that’s what they built. And it shows.
- Big gym
- Modern cardio + weights
- Outdoor yoga/meditation terrace (not open in March, but looks cool)
M Club Lounge: Best. Lounge. Ever.
As a Bonvoy Titanium fam, we had access to the M Club Lounge—and WOW. Easily the best lounge I’ve visited.
- Bright, cozy, and huge
- Plenty of charging spots
- Snack + drink station
- An epic coffee machine with four hot chocolate flavors
- Fireplace + couches = the perfect chill zone
- My family had space to work, relax, and battle it out in UNO
Oh—and an outdoor patio with a fire feature is coming soon. You already know I’ll be back for that.
Food Highlights: Wings, Breakfast, and Local Eats
Because occupancy was low during our stay, instead of serving food in the lounge, we were invited to the restaurant. Here’s the rundown:
- Evening Snacks: Charcuterie board + wings with sriracha honey sauce = 🔥
- Breakfast: My parents ate in the restaurant (I slept in). They got a fruit bowl + croissant starter and a full breakfast from a special menu.
And if you’re heading out? Kingston has food for every craving. My recs:
Snacks & Bakery:
- Pan Chancho Bakery & Café
- Mio Gelato
- BeaverTails – Bananarama is my go-to
Burgers & Comfort Food:
- Harper’s Burger Bar
- The Keg – right across the street
Seafood & Pub Vibes:
Other Local Favorites:
