  • The Westin Toronto Airport Hotel Review: Quiet, Comfortable & Actually Worth It?

Most people book a Toronto airport hotel for convenience… but in this Westin Toronto Airport hotel review, I wanted to see if it actually felt like somewhere you’d want to stay — not just sleep.

That’s exactly what I wanted to find out in this Westin Toronto Airport review.

Located just minutes from Toronto Pearson International Airport, this hotel is designed for travelers — but after staying here for one night, I wanted to see if it actually delivers from a teen perspective, not just as a place to crash before a flight.

This was another stop in my Hometown Ontario Hotel Series, where I’m exploring hotels across the province to see which ones are actually worth it.

Location, Arrival & First Impressions

Right away, this feels like a true airport hotel experience — but in a good way.

There’s almost always a shuttle outside, with guests loading and unloading luggage. The hotel offers a complimentary 24-hour airport shuttle that runs every 30 minutes, and you can request pickup from the airport when you land. For a YYZ airport hotel, that’s a big plus.

Walking into the lobby, the first thing I noticed was how bright and open it felt. The light color palette, combined with the layout, makes the space feel calm and easy to be in — which is exactly what you want before or after a flight.

There’s seating spread throughout, two restaurants right in the lobby, a morning Starbucks grab-and-go setup, and even a flight departures board near the entrance, which is actually really useful.

Check-in was quick and smooth, and during our stay the overall vibe of the hotel felt very calm — something I didn’t expect this close to a major airport.

Room Tour: Spacious, Quiet, and Surprisingly Relaxing

We originally booked a traditional 2 Queen room, but got upgraded to a Deluxe Larger Guest Room with an airport view, which made a noticeable difference.

The room felt big right away. There was plenty of space for the three of us, and I liked the use of laminate flooring instead of carpet — something I’ve started to notice more hotels switching to.

The setup included two queen beds, an armchair with an ottoman, and a decent-sized desk area.

That said, after staying at so many hotels, this is something I always look for — how efficiently the space is used. And here, there was actually a bit of open or unused space that could have been designed better. The TV also felt a bit small for a room of this size.

The bathroom was solid and functional, with a tub.

Our airport view was slightly obstructed since we were on the fifth floor, but you could still see planes moving in the distance.

Sleep Quality: The Real Standout

This is where the hotel really surprised me.

Even though this is a hotel near Toronto Pearson Airport, I didn’t hear a single plane during my entire stay.

The hotel’s design and its position away from the direct flight path make a huge difference. It stays incredibly quiet — something you don’t always get at airport hotels.

And combined with the Westin Heavenly Bed and pillows, this is easily some of the best sleep I get at any hotel.

Wi-Fi & Gaming Setup

Wi-Fi was easy to connect across all devices — laptop, phone, iPad, and my Nintendo Switch. One thing I noticed in this Westin Toronto Airport hotel review is that the Wi-Fi performs reliably for most everyday use.

Speeds came in at about 47.9 Mbps download and 47.7 Mbps upload, which is solid for an airport hotel and works well for streaming, browsing, and casual gaming.

As of this recording, this stay ranks #21 on my Hotel Wi-Fi Speed Leaderboard, where I track real hotel internet performance across all my stays.

Gaming setup took a bit of trial and error. I first tried connecting through the Marriott entertainment system, but none of the inputs worked. The easiest solution was just unplugging the HDMI from the TV and connecting directly from my Switch dock.

Outlets around the desk area could have been better, so if you’re bringing multiple devices, definitely pack a power strip — I always do.

Pool & Gym: A Solid Setup

The pool area is a good size and stays bright even at night, which makes it feel more inviting.

It’s not overly deep — max depth is around 3 feet 7 inches — which makes it a good option for families with younger kids.

The gym, known as the Westin Workout Fitness Studio, is also well-equipped. It has a full range of cardio machines, including treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and even a Peloton, along with weights, benches, and a multi-gym setup.

One cool detail is that the gym overlooks the pool on one side, which adds a bit more openness to the space.

Food Options: Strong for an Airport Hotel

For an airport hotel, the food setup here is actually better than expected.

One thing that stands out in this Westin Toronto Airport hotel review is how strong the food options are for an airport hotel.

Inside the hotel, you’ve got Crosswinds Bar & Grill, located right in the lobby and open for lunch and dinner. It’s a convenient option if you don’t feel like leaving the property, especially after a long travel day.

There’s also in-room dining, which is available for breakfast and dinner. That’s a nice option to have if you’re arriving late or just want to relax in the room.

In the morning, the hotel offers an express Starbucks® grab-and-go setup, which is perfect if you’re heading out early. It has coffee, pastries, and lighter options — exactly what you want before catching a flight.

My parents had breakfast at Atmosphere Restaurant, also located in the lobby, and they said it was really good. The buffet included made-to-order eggs and omelets, waffles, fresh fruit, pastries, and a full selection of hot breakfast items like bacon, sausage, and breakfast hash.

If you do want to head out, there are several restaurants within a short drive, including places like Ruth’s Chris, The Keg, Turtle Jack’s, and Lone Star Texas Grill.

We ended up going to Zet’s, which is one of our go-to spots near the airport. It’s a classic Toronto diner known for huge portions and quick service. My parents went with the chicken souvlaki dinner, and I had their charbroiled burger with fries — simple, but really good.

Overall, this is one of those airport hotels where you have solid options inside, but even better flexibility just minutes away.

Things to Do Near The Westin Toronto Airport Hotel Review

I’ve said this in my other Toronto airport hotel reviews, but sometimes the best thing to do… is nothing.

After a long travel day, having a comfortable room, reliable Wi-Fi, and good food nearby matters more than sightseeing.

That said, if you are looking for things to do, there are still a few options nearby.

If you’re traveling with younger kids, Fantasy Fair inside Woodbine Mall is worth checking out. It’s Ontario’s largest indoor amusement park and is less than 10 minutes away.

If you want something a bit different, you can try a flight simulator experience at AviaSim, located inside the Delta Toronto Airport hotel.

Woodbine Racetrack is another option, especially in the warmer months. It’s a unique experience where you can watch the horses up close before the races and then head outside to the grandstand.

You can also check out events at The International Centre, which regularly hosts shows and large events throughout the year.

Final Verdict – Westin Toronto Airport Hotel Review (Teen Perspective)

So who is this hotel really for?

This is a great option for travelers who want a calm, comfortable airport stay — not just somewhere to sleep, but somewhere to actually reset before or after a flight.

The standout feature here is easily the Westin Heavenly Bed and pillows. I say this all the time, but I consistently get some of my best sleep at Westin hotels — and this was no different.

If there’s anything to keep in mind, it’s simply that this is an airport hotel. It’s not the kind of place where you’re stepping outside to explore — but that’s also not what this hotel is trying to be.

I’ve now reviewed three Toronto airport hotels, and while this may not be the absolute best depending on what you’re looking for, it’s definitely one of the most consistent and comfortable stays.

Overall, this Westin Toronto Airport hotel review shows that this stay is more about comfort and consistency than location.

Sometimes the best hotel stays aren’t about location or luxury — they’re about how you feel when you’re there.

And this one just felt easy.
